“What Do YOU Think It Means?”
Presented by Monica Gomez
Come to this fun and fascinating workshop where you can express your own ideas about visual art. See images by Kandinsky, Magritte, Hughie Lee-Smith, Rousseau, Lichtenstein, Diego Rivera, Ansel Adams, and other artists…and discover what inspired them to create.
Explore your own creative process through the work of these famous classic-to-off-bear artists. Write down your thoughts then enjoy sharing your work and exchanging feedback with other writers.
If you’re uncertain about your writing skills or shy about reading aloud, this is the perfect place to relax, practice and get useful, confidence-building tips on both writing and presentation skills.
Presenter Monica Gomez is an award-winning writer, teaching artist, and on-air talent, known for her entertaining workshops filled with quick wit and insight. “A good workshop should turn us inside-out just enough to see how we’re all so different, yet so alike.”
“What Do YOU Think It Means?” is designed to make you more aware of the images around you – on computer and TV screens, on billboards and in magazines, and on museum and gallery walls – and connect those images to your own experiences through writing.
With the support of the City of El Paso Museums and Cultural Affairs Department and the Texas Commission on the Arts.
