April is National Poetry Month

“The Academy of American Poets in 1996 inaugurated National Poetry Month to be held every April, when schools, publishers, libraries, booksellers, and poets throughout the United States band together to celebrate poetry and its vital place in American culture. Thousands of organizations participate through readings, festivals, book displays, workshops, and other events.”
The El Paso Writers’ League will celebrate National Poetry Month with a guest speaker who will delight us with his poetry!

Per our conversation last year, I am sending you the 2013 West Texas Writer’s Academy information.  We have an amazing slate of instructors and speakers this year, as you will see.  I have attached our flier with date, speaker and registration information, but our website has further information for those interested.  This is truly an academy with daily classes, critiques and seminars.  And there are fun plans every evening to boot!
